Kings kids camp

This week YWAM Fiji organised a kings kids camp! I’m part of it for 3 days before I leave Fiji again and fly out to Australia. 

I'm so excited to be part of this camp! They put me in charge of the morning workouts. Well that’s something you don’t have to ask me a second time Haha. Every morning we started at 6 o'clock sharp with some dance moves, fitness and stretches. After that we finished our morning routine with a run around the base! It was the perfect start of the day.

I helped out during the camp with whatever was needed. I helped preparing the meals during the day. We had a group of around 50 people. So it was a lot of work to prepare meals.

They also asked me to teach some dances during the dance classes. They will preform the dances during their outreach during the last three days of the camp. They will visit a hospital and jail and practice what they have learned during the camp. They will share God’s love through dance, songs and sharing their testimonies! It’s really excited to be a part of this mission by teaching them some of the dances. They where dancing really well and I love the way they put their heart into it!
 
It was such a special time for me to be with these teenagers! To see them grow in faith, open up and sharing their stories, getting to know them more, pray for them and they for me! It was a really blessed time.

Thank you Lord Jesus for leading me here in Fiji! To be part of this lovely community . To share your love and feel your love just by being here with these wonderful people. Lord you are good!

My testimony in the local church

It’s Sunday and I’m joining the Ywam leaders to go to church. I went to their house and Ledua told me; Good morning Lizzy, you’re going to share your testimony this morning in church. I smiled and said what? Haha you couldn’t tell me that yesterday evening? He told me, it’s okay, God will show you what to share today.

I know God has send me on this journey to share His Love, Goodness and Power by using Dance, Photography and Testimony. So when Ledua asked me I immediately knew what God wanted me to share. It made me excited that God brought me all the way to Fiji and gives me the opportunity to Glorify Him through my testimony.
 
So when we were in church we split up in groups and I was part of the teenage girls. The leader asked me to share my testimony with the 4 other girls. I was excited! Yes this is the moment. I started sharing and I truly believe God spoke to their hearts. I thanked Jesus for trusting me with these 4 girls.
 
The service continued and after 30 min I heard my name.. Lizzy do you wanna come to the front and share your testimony.? I was a little surprised. I thought I already shared it and now I have to do it again in front of the whole church!

I came to the front and shared my story again. People in church really listen and responded with an occasional amen! I thank God that He even trusted me with more people! Be faithful in the little and He will trust you with the bigger.

After my testimony Vika the woman that runs YWAM with her husband sang a song for me and also for the other girls from church. It touched my heart. She shared that God is number one in her life and that no matter what happens in life she has God to fall back onto and will not be lost.

Tivua island

I’m so happy! Today I’m on a cruise to Tivua island. I really wanted to see a bit more of the Fiji islands. Specially because I only have 2 weeks here and do not have a lot of time to travel around.
I met a really nice lady Herlena. She was also travelling alone and we bonded real quickly. We shared a lot of stories and enjoyed our day together!

On the cruise we were welcomed with a tropical drink and a cruise crew that was singing Fiji songs! It was a big celebration. It took us two hours to get to the island and WOW what was it amazing! The water is crystal clear and the beach exist of super white and soft sand! It was a little paradise on earth.

We dropped our stuff on the beach and went snorkelling. We got our gear and headed to the sea. The water had a nice temperature and we saw a lot of small fishes but the big surprise was the baby sharks that passed by! It put this snorkel adventure at a different level! I had the best time of my life in that moment.

After snorkelling I chilled a bit on the beach and then I heard the staff yelling: LUNCH TIME! It was a buffet with lots of tasty food! I was in food heaven for a while haha. After that I had a massage appointment. They took 30 min care of my back, hmm somehow those 30 min felt super quick! Haha I was totally relaxed after! Unfortunately it was already time to go back to the boat and leave this beautiful paradise. It was one of those days I will always remember.

Kids party YWAM Fiji

I arrived at Fiji airport right on time. But... I didn’t see my pickup person.
I called the Ywam base and asked about it. They were surprised I was already here, haha, somehow they thought I was coming the next day. They told me to stay at the airport and they were coming right away!
 
Yeey ..made it safely to the Ywam base. I have a really nice room mate Esther. She is from Fiji and did her DTS here and is now part of the staff. She told me that there are quite a few mosquitoes around. I’m so happy with the mosquito-net that YWAM Cooks gave me! I hung it up directly and am now safe from all the insects that they have in Fiji! 
 
The next day we had a big Ywam kids party. They run kidsclub on the base for a whole season and this was the last one of the season. Next week everyone has Christmas Holiday. So we had a big Christmas party.
 John is the most amazing kids leader I have seen! He has a vision, a goal and goes for it. He organised and decorated the whole party. He just told us what we needed to do as a team.
 
The staff cooked dinner together with GG, our neighbour to prepare for a lovely Christmas meal with the kids.
I helped out with welcoming the kids on arrival and waited with them outside before they were allowed to go inside. I had some nice conversations with them and took a lot of amazing pictures. The kids here are so beautiful! Some were a little shy and some couldn’t have enough photos haha. It’s amazing how photography connects and shows them how amazing God made them!

Yeey we are welcome to join inside. John lead the group with singing, teaching and dancing! It was a true celebration. Then it was time for food! Hmm it was delicious. The kids really enjoyed it. Specially they liked the ice cream! Haha. They all got in the end a diploma of participation for the whole kids club season. It was amazing to see those kids shining and learning more about God and His values for life. Thank you Jesus for this kids club, the kids and the staff. Keep blessing all of them and share your love and wisdom more and more everyday. You are good all the time.
