On the top of Burj Khalifa

Today I had booked a ticket to the top of Burj khalifa. It went quite smooth to get to the elevators. At the top the view was beautiful! You will have a look out over all of Dubai. For me personally it was just a commercial hype. There where so many people! It wasn’t easy to take photo’s. Long waiting lines to get back down. Lots of people where pushed in 1 elevator. I’m glad I have seen it, but for me it wasn’t a wow experience. I had lunch in one of the restaurants with a view on the fountains. Such a nice place sit down. After that I went for some shopping in the mega large shopping mall. At night I watch the fountain show again, there where as usual lots and lots of people. But it was beautiful. Different music then the afternoon show and now you could see all the stunning lights as well. I ordered a pizza and took a taxi back to the hotel to enjoy a relaxing evening.

Favourite day in Dubai

I decided to wake up early. What was easy because of the jet lag haha. I made a plan for the whole day and I was very excited. I took a taxi to historical Dubai and walked around the old streets while the sun was rising. It was so peaceful! I loved the big canal with all the vintage little boats. I booked a boat trip and had the privilege I was the only passenger on board. Wauw what a view and experience. Flowing over the water, a soft breeze in my hair and the sun rising and glowing over the water. For me it was pure magic! A morning I would like to have every day. I was on board with just the captain. He was a funny local guy. He controlled the boat with his feet and took pictures of me in the meantime. What a great boat trip it was.

After that I walked around the market and took the taxi to Burj al Arab, the famous hotel at Jumeirah beach. Lots of people took photos. It was fun for me to see it but it wasn’t that spectacular as I thought it would be. There was also construction work going on in that space. That took the magic a bit away. So I took another taxi quite quickly to JBR beach to score my brunch. JBR beach is such a relaxed area! Lots of restaurants, little shops and a lovely beach. The vibe is just perfect. Everything is very clean! I had a chill time here having great food and had some rest on the beach. 

That night I took myself out for a fancy rooftop dinner at the uptown bar in the Jumeirah beach hotel. Wow what a view, what a great food and delicious wine! Wonderful to see the sunset kissing the city goodbye with her warm light covering the whole place and the moon shining bright above it. Slowly It is changing to complete darkness, and then it’s time for the city to stand out in her sparkling lights! What a day it was!
